Quality control is usually denoted as QC and it is the process employed to ensure a certain level of quality in a product or service based on standards such as ISO 9001 2008. It is clear to everybody that quality control is important for everybody involved and there is really no disadvantage of practicing it. Quality control is usually confused with quality assurance, but although the two are similar in most aspects, there are some differences such as the fact that QC is concerned with the product whereas quality assurance is concerned with the process. This means that companies that practice quality control will be more efficient since the machines will be checked and maintained regularly. The company will be able to detect defective machines on time and this generally leads to benefits for the company. When an organization is undergoing the process of ISO 9001 2008 certification, all aspect of the organization is looked into. This leads to more efficiency in the organization which means more money. It is important for all organizations to practice quality control, not only for themselves and for the customers, but also for the society at large.
